Shannon Lorio was driving on a rural road in Pavo Georgia where she’s lived all her life. The curvy and winding road ran alongside the woods, and she lost control of the car.
After fishtailing through a turn, Shannon lost control and was thrown from the front seat, all the way through the back window and landed on top of the trunk.
She was in serious trouble. The car had landed in a spot where nobody would see her from the road. Shannon was disoriented, bleeding, and in a lot of pain and couldn’t move.
Then out of nowhere, a German shepherd dog emerged from the woods and came to her aid.
“I was bleeding from my face and my nose,” she told the Washington Post. “All of a sudden, I felt a presence, a really huge presence. He was straddling me. I have watched too many horror movies about werewolves and vampires. I thought he was going to eat me.”
Instead, the dog started licking her face and kept her awake. Then the dog grabbed her by her collar and dragged her off the trunk and over 100 feet to the edge of the road. He let her lean against him so she could flag down a car.
