The 10 puppies – named Dailey, Tartt, Leotta, Guindon, Carrigan, Lem (a nickname for Major Barney), Moszer, Hofer, Colson and Logsdon – will all be keeping the names that Tracy and Tom have given them once they are adopted, something that is a bit unique in the world of fostering.
The impact of this tribute to fallen police officers was more than Tracey and her husband would have ever imagined.
After the story was shared, the puppy Leotta named after Officer Noah Leotta, who was killed by a drink driver, was adopted by Officer Leotta’s family.
Then Officer Guidon’s aunt decided to adopt the puppy named after her niece.
Later on, Officer Colson’s family decided to adopt the dog named after their son.
These puppies are bringing light back into these fallen officer’s families’ lives. Although all the puppies won’t be going to fallen officer’s homes, we can only imagine that the other seven puppies will find homes that are just as loving.
While fostering puppies is always a personal experience, it’s safe to say that these 10 little puppies have left an extra special mark on their foster parents.
