Claudia Navarrete and her family, from Victorville California, had an amazing reunion with their lost dog when she showed up all the way in Las Vegas two long years after she ran away.
The dog was a poodle mix named Bella. When she ran away two years ago, the family searched and searched, but never found her.
After two years, the family had lost hope. “I actually just threw her tags away like two weeks ago,” Claudia said told reporters.
Then, miraculously, after two years, the dog showed up in the Cheyenne West Animal Hospital in Las Vegas.
Hospital workers were able to use the microchip that was implanted in Bella to track down her family.
Thankfully, the dog’s chip was up-to-date, and they were able to contact Claudia to give her the good news that her beloved dog had been found.
Carolyn Lawrence, from the animal hospital said that microchips are only effective if they are registered, and if owners keep their contact information updated.
It’s a good thing Claudia had taken care of making sure all the microchip contact information was current. Otherwise, they might never have found her.
