A distressed dog was desperately trying to survive when a raging flood hit Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Thankfully a Good Samaritan came by to help her just in the nick of time from drowning.
Josh Pettit was navigating the waters looking for people who needed assistance. He heard a weird noise coming from the bushes.
Josh wrote on Facebook that he had been out in his boat skimming over several feet of water after the flash flooding when he spotted a “bush shaking.”
He looked over and all he saw was a gray muzzle and a pair of very frightened eyes staring up at him. The rest of the dog was submerged underneath the muddy water.
“The dog could barely tread water anymore she was so worn out and had the saddest eyes I ever seen so scared for her life! We saved her and she came laid her head on my lap and cried and moaned like a big baby! She was thanking me. I thank God for letting me notice her,” Josh posted on “Love What Matters” Facebook wall.
After saving the dog, Josh came across a veterinarian’s office that was also flooded and he helped rescue all the animals from the office. He left the dog he pulled out of the water with the vet on dry land.
