Actor Jim Tavare, who played Tom the Innkeeper in Harry Potter, was unfortunately in a serious head-on car accident in Los Angeles. His dog, Mr. Kippy, was in the car with him.
Jim is known for his role as Tom, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the 3rd Installment in the Harry Potter series. The movie has a huge following all over the world.
Jim’s injuries were very grave. He suffered a broken neck, punctured lung, multiple breaks in his leg and had a total of 15 broken ribs. Luckily the dog was unharmed.
Jim spent two weeks in an intensive care unit at the hospital. His injuries required surgery and two blood transfusions. He was in a lot of pain, but he was also in emotional pain because he couldn’t have his little dog with him.
Jim’s wife, Laura, posted a picture of the actor awake in his hospital bed. He was awake, but was covered in bruises, had several IV drips, and wore a neck brace.
Laura later send a second message thanking fans for their, “support and love for Jim (and me) as we battle through this traumatic time.”
Finally, after not being able to see his dog for so long, the time came when Jim was well enough see him again.
