It breaks my heart to see dogs wandering alone on the streets or hanging out at gas stations. I’ll never understand why people dump their dogs off, expecting them to fend for themselves, but we see it all the time.
Ralph was a dog that was found at a gas station. He was not in the best condition and he seemed to be all alone. Little did he know his luck was about to change.
The dog was originally given to Sidewalk Specials, an animal rescue in the United Kingdom, whose goal is to rescue as many dogs as possible. They are very good at making use of a network of fosters and social media to find homes for the dogs and raise awareness.
Sidewalk Specials needed to keep the dog for 14 days to see if his owners would turn up. Once that time was past, the dog was brought to a foster home. Apparently this was the first dog this family had taken in.
They were a little concerned about taking in a stray dog because they also had a young daughter. But they wanted to do their part to help.
Sidewalk Specials sugessted that this would probably be a great dog for them to start off with because he was so laid back and chill. In fact, so laid back that he fell asleep while the vet was examining him.
