April 27, 2017 was a horrific day the day in Stockholm, Sweden. It was the day that four people were mown down when a suspected terrorist rammed a truck into a crowd of people in a busy shopping area.
Four people were killed – a British national, two Swedes and one Belgian – and there was also a dog, called Iggy.
Markus Krantz and his girlfriend live near the city and went to the scene after it was re-opened to the public. They noticed that the dog who had been killed was not being recognized.
Iggy was a rescue dog from Dogs Aid Animal Sanctuary in Dublin. When it became known that Iggy was a rescue dog, Markus put together a memorial for the dog.
He created an arrangement of dog biscuits, candles, a leash, and a flower, and laid it on the spot where the dog died.
Then Markus took a picture of the memorial and posted it on Facebook. The image quickly went viral and love poured out from all over the world.
