Jessica Woodruff’s barn caught fire in Roseburg, Oregon.  This is something nobody should ever have to go through.  In this most devastating tragedy, the damage was enormous.

The fire took the lives of four goats and a pig.  But the most devastating was that her beloved dog, Daisy, a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees and Border collie mix, lost her litter of 3-week-old puppies in the tragedy.

It all happened so quickly.  As soon as Jessica realized what was going on, she ran to the barn trying to stop the fire, but there was nothing she could do.  She ended up holding her dog back as she tried to run into the flames to save her puppies.

Jessica believed that a heat lamp she was using to keep the puppy litter warm might have started the fire.

Daisy, the mama dog was utterly devastated.  She was suffering and didn’t understand what had happened to her puppies.  She lost all interest in living.

She became severely depressed and wouldn’t eat.  But the worst was she walked down to what was left of the barn, sit down and just whine and cry.  It was incredibly heartbreaking.
