It was a winter morning in Wisconsin. Police officer, Jeff Gonzalez was out doing his rounds when he saw a black Labrador running on the side of the road by himself. The dog, who was named John Boy, was nervous, barking, and anxious for the officer to get out of the car.
Then the dog started to run up the street. Officer Jeff didn’t know what the dog wanted but followed him to see what was up.
Then he saw where the dog was taking him. The dog’s owner, Krystal, was urgently in need of help. Krystal suffers from a heart condition, and they found her slumped in a chair on the porch and was unresponsive.
She was wearing her pajamas. The temperature outside was only 3 degrees and Krystal was freezing. Her lips were blue, and at first the officer thought she was dead.
“To be honest with you, I thought she was dead. And when I went up, she was very cold to the touch; her lips were blue. But I was able to determine she was breathing and had a pulse. I called for assistance and my partner was close. So together we got her in the house,” said Gonzalez.
The officer called for assistance, and then carried Krystal inside the house. As soon as the ambulance arrived, she was taken to the hospital to be examined and treated.
