This cute little puppy was so excited to be back with her owner after being lost and trapped under a car for days! It was an emotional reunion.
Dave, this puppy’s owner was walking Luna and her brother four days earlier, when Luna’s brother was hit by a speeding car which ran through the crosswalk.
Luckily, the other dog’s wounds were minor, but Luna slipped out of her collar and ran away in a panic. Dave had been searching for her for four days.
Then Allison Dunbar, an actress from Los Angeles, was driving down the street and saw the puppy hiding beneath a car.
She tried to get the dog to come out, but it was terrified. She even tossed in scraps of food hoping to coax him out, but he wouldn’t even look at her.
So Allison called Hope for Paws’ emergency line. Eldad Hagar, founder of Hope for Paws, came right over to assist. He assessed the situation and then put a plastic fence and some netting around the car hoping that would keep the puppy from bolting into traffic.
Slowly, he was able to get Luna out from under the car. Once she was out, they discovered she was wearing a microchip, and so they were able to quickly locate her owner, Dave.
Luna was treated for minor wounds while Dave was in route to pick her up.
When Luna was brought into the room with Dave, all you can see is the massive excitement from both as they are reunited. It’s obvious these two love each other desperately.
Thank goodness Luna had a microchip. Hope for Paws says one in three pets will get lost in their lifetime, and 90% of the ones without microchips never find their home. Hopefully this video will encourage others to see the value of getting a microchip.
