Have you lost a beloved dog in your lifetime? It can be one of the hardest things you ever have to face.
It seems trite to say that losing a pet is like losing a member of your family. But the truth is, that’s actually a gross understatement. Our dogs are unique and hold a very special place in our hearts.
I’m not saying dogs are more important or more valuable than the people in our lives, but there is a whole different kind of relationship that can be just as hard, if not harder, to lose.
For one thing, our dogs love us unconditionally. It doesn’t take much to make them happy. And they show us an incredible amount of love and adoration for even the simplest pleasures.
When a person you love dies, it’s natural to feel sorrow, express grief, and expect friends and family to provide understanding and comfort.
But you don’t always get that when it’s your beloved dog who passes. Some people still don’t understand how important our dogs can be to us, and there may even be a few who may not get why you’re grieving over “just a pet.”
So while we may have to say goodbye for now, they will always remain in our hearts.
Watch the video below and see a beautiful poem to bring peace to those of us who are still grieving the loss of our beloved furbaby.
