Abandoned Puppy And Veal Calf Form A Beautiful Friendship That Helps Them Overcome Their Sad Pasts

We hear stories about animals from different species coming together and building wonderful unlikely relationships. These stories never get old because they make you feel so good when you hear about them.

Here’s a story of an unlikely, but very special, 5-month-old puppy and a 3-month-old veal calf, two rescue animals who found an unlikely friendship.

Julia Castaneda, from Juliana’s Animal Sanctuary in Colombia, found four abandoned puppies on the grounds of the sanctuary. Her first thought was to let them join the packs of local dogs. They would be fine.

But then, for some reason, she couldn’t get the thought of them out of her mind. After really thinking it over, she ended up bringing the puppies home.

Three of the puppies were quickly adopted into loving forever families. But the fourth puppy was still waiting. His name was Sri Ram.

About the same time, there was a veal calf born on a local dairy farm who was unwanted too. The calf’s name was Bernie. Normally, being a male, he would have been slaughtered for veal soon after being sold.

But luckily, his owners decided to help him. They contacted Julia, and the calf was moved to the sanctuary to live out his life.
