Hope for Paws is an amazing dog rescue group out of Los Angeles, California. The founder, Eldad Hagar, and his volunteers go way above and beyond every day to save an animal that needs their help. They really do amazing work.
Rescuers at Hope for Paws get all kinds of calls for help but this seems to be one of the most harrowing.
Other rescue teams had been trying for a week to get the dogs down from the mountain, but hadn’t had any success… and time was running out.
When Eldad received the call about three stranded dogs in Wrightwood, California, they didn’t even hesitate. The dogs were trapped nearly 8,000 feet up near the top of a huge mountain.
Eldad knew this would be a particularly difficult rescue. At 7,600 feet up the mountain and temperatures below freezing, he had to move into action right away.
Eldad asked Lisa Chiarelli to help him, and they also found three amazing women willing to volunteer – Corina Jo, Alli, and Diane.
The three dogs were terrified when they arrived. Ginger, the smallest of the three, did risk approaching her rescuers as soon as they started tempting her with some food.
