Stuart shared his secret with Express: “He is definitely a spoilt lad, and that’s probably why he’s managed to live so long. He loves his home comforts, snoozing in his bed and of course tasty treats.”
Charlie has now earned the title of the oldest living dog in the United Kingdom. He has an amazing life full of love with his adoptive parents and 12-year-old fur siblings Lucy and Zack.
The dog may not be so young anymore, but he hasn’t lost his excitement for life. He loves to go on walks, although sometimes dad carries him up the hills.
Stuart says, “This dog lights up the world around him. “We feel so privileged to have been able to offer Charlie a happy home in his later life, and he has brought so much joy to us. We simply couldn’t imagine our lives without him.”
I’m so happy this dog found a new chance at life. Kayla, from Dogs Trust, hopes Charlie’s story will inspire others to open their hearts to the love and warmth older dogs have to share. Older dogs still have much to offer.
“Their personality is already shaped so new owners can really understand and appreciate the dog they are welcoming into their family,” Kayla explained to Express.
Charlie got another chance at life. Please be sure to SHARE this story with all your dog-loving Facebook friends, so other older dogs may have the same opportunity.
