Santo was found in the streets of Mexico. He’d been hit by a car in Tijuana, and his injuries were so bad the people who found him decided he should be put down.
But then he met Angi Garcia. She saw something really special in this dog. His will to live was incredibly strong. And there was a light inside him that never seems to go out. She named the dog Santo.
Angi decided she needed to do whatever it took to bring him back to health and give him a happy life. Her plan was to not only help him be healthy, but also to find him a forever home in the United States.
Angi saves a lot of Mexican dogs. She used the power of social media to share this dog’s story with people all around the world. Donations started to pour in for the dog’s care.
Unfortunately, the dogs back legs became infected and had to be amputated.
He recovered from her surgery and was regaining his health, but it seemed finding someone to adopt him wasn’t going to be so easy.
Santo was now left with 2 legs and would need to wear diapers, and that seemed a little too much for most potential adopters.
